Our Story
Three friends founded Bevel: Adam Freed, Aravindh Dorai, and Hale Everets. We had been working weekends building technology to take the pain out of home-building.
Then, in January 2025, Adam's parents' home of 49 years burned to the ground in the Palisades Fire, as did most of his hometown. From that moment, we all agreed our focus would be simply to build things that could help people after the fires.
One of the earliest problems we saw was that fire survivors were struggling to put together a full inventory of their possessions for insurance purposes. Adam's parents, for instance, were trying to remember what they had owned and were making lists on yellow legal tablets. We all discussed it briefly βand Aravindh whipped up the first iteration of Bevel's inventory tool in hours. It took off from the start.
Based on great feedback from an amazing community of fire survivors, we have built more and more features. And we are only just beginning. Today, even insurance professionals are asking if they can try Bevel.
Everywhere we look, we see painful, tedious work that disaster survivors are being asked to do. And we are learning that many insurance professionals want these problems fixed as much as we do. We believe technology applied caringly and thoughtfully can help. And we're excited to build it.
